ST-48 NON-INTRUSIVE MAGNETIC CALIBRATOR/SENSOR TRANSMITTER WITH WIRELESS INTERFACE!
- ST-48EC/RF Monitor with integrated radio and lithium power source for electrochemical sensors creates a truly wireless sensor transmitter
- ST-48Bridge/RF Monitor accepts high power consumption bridge sensors. 10-30VDC external power is required but monitored values are broadcast wirelessly to our ST-71, ST-90/QUAD and ST-95 receivers
- Both 900MHZ and 2.4GHZ FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) models available
- Specify /RF900 suffix for 900MHZ North American applications and /RF2400 for 2.4GHZ. License free operation required in application country
- Indoor/urban Range up to 1500' with 2.1 dB dipole antenna. Outdoor line-of-sight Range up to 10 miles with high gain antenna (900MHZ model)
- Transmit Power: 900MHZ = adjustable 10mW - 1W (with 2.1 dBi antenna); 2.4GHZ = 100mW fixed (with 3 dBi antenna)
- Receiver Sensitivity: 900MHZ = -100 dBm; 2.4GHZ = 90 dBm
- Visual indicators for "In Range", "RF Transmit", "Low Battery", "Alarm Status" and more
- Models available for Division 1 (Explosion Proof) and Division 2 hazardous area installations
- Allows "one man" sensor calibration in hazardous areas without area declassification
- Operator Interface requires only a simple magnetic wand. No special electronic devices needed
- LCD readout is .6” engineering units and graphically as a 30-minute trend and bar-graph

The popular ST-48 Sensor Transmitter is also available with integral RF900 (900MHZ) or RF2400 (2.4GHZ) license free radio modem options. Two wireless ST-48RF models are available:
ST-48EC/RF models accept only low power electrochemical toxic or oxygen sensors and an integral lithium 'D' cell provides up to one year continuous wireless operation.
ST-48Bridge/RF models must be powered from an external 10-30VDC power source but accept either electrochemical sensors or higher power consuming bridge sensors. These externally powered models also provide a 4-20mA output.
Wireless RF Interface Description:
RF900 or RF2400 radio modules mount in the ST-48's expansion PCB location. ST-48 options such as relays, modbus and isolated 4-20mA outputs are not available in wireless models. RF links consume much more power when communicating with the wireless network. To conserve battery power ST-48's keep the radio powered down until ready to transmit a message. Transmissions occur every 5-minutes when no alarms are detected and increase to each 6-seconds when alarms exist. Each transmission contains gas value, battery level and alarm status. Multiple R.C. Systems Inc. ST-71 / ST-90QUAD / ST-95 controllers may be positioned to receive ST-48 transmissions when one is Server, all others are Clients and all are on the same Hop and System ID patterns. RF900 and RF2400 equipped controllers only expect a response from each ST-48/RF every 5-minutes and flag "communication error" if three consecutive messages are missed.
